Have you ever battled with your weight? Ever lost it and then gained it all back and some?
Today’s podcast is an episode with an iconic figure in the podcasting world, Cliff Ravenscraft. He’s known as the Podcast Answerman and is an extraordinary individual.
His success and work ethic cannot be rivaled and yet at the same time, you just could not meet a nicer guy.
But his success came with a very high price: his health.

Cliff is first, and foremost, a podcast producer who has produced more than 30 of his own podcast shows with over 3,600 of his very own podcast episodes devoted to Business, Technology, Entertainment, Family, and Faith.
In December 2006, Cliff launched PodcastAnswerMan.com where he has since helped tens of thousands of individuals and organizations successfully launch a podcast through one-on-one coaching, his Podcasting A to Z online group coaching course and his digital training tutorials.
If you were to look at the top 100 podcasts in the business category of iTunes, more than 50 of these shows were created by clients who worked with Cliff..
Question One – 4:10
As a high performing entrepreneur, have you always had this level of energy?
Health and fitness was not a part of most of my life.
Success was found in your work which came from his upbringing.
“On an energy level, I was driven to succeed but not taking taking care of my body at all and weighing up to 270 pounds.”
“I looked good on audio but when you met me I was this fat guy.”
His baseline with his first pedometer showed a total of 380 steps per day.
Increased up to 1100 steps and felt like he was going to die which showed just how bad things had become.
Over the course of 18 months increased his steps gradually up to 10,00 steps and changed his nutrition to a Mediterranean style diet and lost 60 pounds.
His motivation now came from his momentum – scale, pictures, compliments.
18 months after the success, got out of the routine after being sick, began eating junk, and not working out. He sunk himself back into his work and ballooned back up to 268 pounds.
His success came back in the business which had incredible success.

How did you get out of your 2nd major setback in your weight?
Up and down love affair with health and fitness.
Walking 5-10 miles a day yet actually eating McDonalds during the walk!
Question Three – 20:13
In your mind were you justifying what you eat because you were working out?
“My motto was ‘I will workout for food!’”
“Everything else in my life came easy but self-discipline in my health and fitness”

“People are looking up to me and wanted to do what I was doing but yet I felt like a fraud. I didn’t want people to pay the price of success I was paying in my health and fitness”

Now that you’re publicly speaking and out in front of more people, this had to feel so contradictory to who are you in your integrity, right?
“Working out has changed every aspect of my life and business”
In 22 months, Cliff has burned over 100 pounds of fat.
Monday – Friday run 3 miles before eating
5 days a week of strength training:
M – chest / triceps
T – legs / shoulders
W – back / biceps
TH – chest / triceps
ST – back / biceps
30 minutes of cardio / 30 minutes of strength training five days per week

What advice would you give who believes their busy to stop and get healthy and workout?
Today I am more successful in my business than ever.
I have more energy than I’ve ever had in my life.
I spend about 3 hours a day on average just devoted to my health and fitness. I do not start work before 10am and do not work past 5pm and typically don’t work on the weekends.
I am so efficient at what I’m doing, energy, focus, and clarity now.
